You Misplaced Your Guts When You Sold Your Soul
A study on political and financial alliance.

Sculpted and sewn fabric and canvas evoke the visceral act of someone pouring out their own guts; the physical and moral consequence of choosing political power as a path to personal gain.

The work explores the entanglement of political ambition, wealth, and influence, and the ways power can become a vehicle for enriching oneself and one’s inner circle.

The materials are intentionally humble: scraps from a neighbor’s broken hammock, remnants from DIY projects, and pieces that might otherwise be discarded. They speak to a reality in which much of humanity is constantly scraping, patching, repairing, and making do, while those with the most continue to accumulate more.

What is discarded becomes the body of the work and a reminder of who is left with the scraps, and who keeps taking.
